That’s why we decided to make a special Meet the Team series here on the blog to show you who we are, what we do and how we do it! Since we like to start things from the proper place (meaning, from the beginning!), in the first post of this series we’ll talk, obviously, about our Founders. Are you ready?
Edilson Osório, CEO
You might’ve seen him talking about Identity, Authentication, and Proof-of-Authorship at the Ethereum Classic Summit in Korea. Or maybe you saw him on the biggest news channel in Brazil explaining how technology is helping to reduce bureaucracy in countries like Estonia. Perhaps in one of our videos about OriginalMy, like the one about the 5 things you probably didn’t know about us and blockchain?
He doesn’t really need an introduction, but let’s do this anyway, ok? So here it goes:
Who are you and what do you do at OriginalMy?
My name is Edilson Osório Júnior and I’m the CEO and Founder of OriginalMy. I founded OriginalMy back in 2015 with Miriam Oshiro, who’s currently our COO, and since then we’ve been disrupting the Brazilian bureaucracy.
What is your background?
I’m a computer scientist and specialist in Information Security and Infrastructure.
What makes you excited about blockchain technology?
The potential that technology has to change the way society and institutions interact.
For you, what’s the coolest thing about working at OriginalMy?
Having the opportunity to work with an awesome team that is determined to solve all the challenges posed by culture, the government, and the market. We’re protagonists in building a new future, more efficient and less bureaucratic. To be able to actively participate in this, innovating and building state-of-the-art technology that transforms and gives value back to society is something that motivates me a lot.
How do you think the future can be like if we start to use blockchain in a larger scale?
At the limit, a world without physical borders and barriers. Voluntary exchanges happening all the time with little or no interference of the State. A decentralized environment, in which the transparency of relations eliminates corruption and fraud.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I almost became a Buddhist monk. I spent some time in a Chinese monastery training for the monastic life.

Miriam Oshiro, COO
You probably saw her talking about blockchain at the Startup Weekend Fintech Women, but more often than not she’ll be busy at the office making sure that the company runs as it should.
Who are you and what do you do at OriginalMy?
I’m Miriam and I’m the COO of OriginalMy.
What is your background?
Although I have a STEM degree, my focus was more on sciences and math, not technology. I have a bachelor’s in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. I became an entrepreneur back in 2013 in the healthcare sector, which is a very rewarding field.
What makes you excited about blockchain technology?
What makes me excited is the fact that this technology has led to solutions that were impossible before, and that is still in the early stage, so I can’t even imagine what we’ll have in ten years!
For you, what’s the coolest thing about working at OriginalMy?
The best part of working here is that the company was born with a purpose, and working for that purpose is what makes everything worthwhile.
How do you think the future can be like if we start to use blockchain in a larger scale?
The world can be much more efficient and egalitarian if blockchain initiatives are indeed implemented.

I once broke a leg while trying to escape from the window to skip class.
